In this part is discussed the urban transformation which has taken place in an area or town linked to a port that has been moved from its original site. What relation has this neighbourhood/town with the port and what has been done after?
It should be studied the influence that port activities have on population, as well as the consequences of their abandonment and / or removal.
In a European background, it could be analysed the areas of ports converted into new neighbourhoods, and other examples of heritage port reconversion into activities such as residence, office, business, entertainment, museums and cultural centres.
Besides the neighbourhoods, the interstitial spaces, such as areas of useless outdoor deposits of merchandise, have been transformed into boulevards, avenues and parks, becoming new generating assets for the city.
